Bantam Thunder made the trip to Barrie to make up for what slipped through their fingers last year when they fell short in the Championship game. They knew this year had to end differently. With one championship under their belt and goalie Joel Hagen returned to the line up, the Thunder opened the tournament fast, with 3 wins and 1 tie before heading into the Semi-Finals against Niagara. Jake Casey opened the scoring on his first shift which led to the flood gates opening. The Thunder added 11 more goals before finishing the game 12-1. The boys grabbed a quick team lunch before heading into the Championship game against host team Barrie Colts. Aidan McVey opened the scoring on the power play to energize his team. Jake Casey commanded a breakaway until he was pushed into the Barrie goalie--but not before the puck crossed the line! Two unanswered goals for the Thunder before Barrie started to push back. "Lets go Barrie" echoed through the building as the host team picked up there pace. Andrew Dalgleish stood proud in his crease for the Thunder turning away shot after shot from the relentless Barrie team. Justin Brennecke soon silenced the crowd when he roofed the puck over the shoulder of the Barrie goalie. Calvin Bourgeois potted the 4th for the Thunder before time expired. The Thunder finished the tournament with 40 goals for, and 4 against, in 6 games. The Bantam Thunder go back to back in tournament wins and add another banner to the rafters. #rowtheboat

Aidan McVey....best goal celebration! Grab that Crest and give the bench your best fly-by! Outstanding. A great Captain with this Bantam squad. But....#we'renotdun!
